Very helpful, as usual, TomM. I started using Linux after I bought my Raspberry Pi. I already have the Ubuntu version of Linux Mint installed on a VirtualBox, but, since this OS is Debian/Jessie based, it'll be a closer kin to Raspbian installed on my Pi.

Can you elaborate more on what you said about using PPA's with LMDE? I didn't think that was possible. One reason I like Ubuntu-based distros is the ability to use PPA's.

Kernel 3.16? As that was being phased out, is when I first started using Linux!

If Ubuntu is purchased by M$ or is otherwise compromised, it's nice to know that LM has way to continue.

Domain blocker is typical(not sure) in Debian and Debian based distributions.
I think I saw that in MX 17.
Hopefully you will do a review of LMDE 3.
In the near future you will have a new subscriber… "Switched to Debian" 🙂 That's me

Once the Linux Mint Debian team gets more developers, they should base the Debian Edition on Debian Testing.

    Great review.
If I know right LMDE don't have driver manager software and PPA manager, because it is Debian based.
